Spa Bath Soap with Australian Red Reef Clay

Our goal in this bar was to keep it simple with the clay, so we selected an Australian red reef clay. This clay is a rich, deep brick red. The result is a soap that has the same lovely color!

• Australian red reef clay is high in iron and essential mineral content thought to replenish the epidermis.
• Shea butter is considered to be high in vitamin and mineral content which is thought to benefit dry skin.
• Avocado oil is thought to add moisturizing properties, also great for dry skin.

The scent is a sweet light strawberry-ish fragrance. This is an excellent cleansing soap in the shower, and like our other clay soaps, has a lovely feel in the hand and on the body.

One last word: Lard! Yes, lard. It’s one of the true “original” soap ingredients, back in the day when ancient Babylonians figured out that combining animal fats with alkaline ashes somehow combined to make something that cleans bodies. Lard contributes to a hard bar of soap with creamy lather and provides emolliency.

Note: For external use only. Clay coloring may stain light fabrics and cling to tub or shower film. We’ve used light colored cloths with no issues but your mileage may vary. We recommend using a shower pouf to get the best results.
