Tangerine Dreams

Description

We like using different butters and essential oils at different times, and for this “limited edition” hand and body soap, we selected tangerine butter and tangerine essential oil with which to work. To pump up the volume on the tangerine notes, we combined lime essential oil and a lemony yuzu cybilla fragrance oil. The aroma is an elevated tangerine that’s enhanced by the lime and yuzu without losing any of its original tangerine notes.

• Tangerine essential oil has a light, refreshing fragrance; is thought to have antiseptic properties and maintain moisture balance of skin.
• Walnut oil is thought to have emollient properties as well as to be good for mature skin.
• Apricot kernel oil is a light weight oil high in Vitamin A; thought to be skin softening and moisturizing.

One last word: Lard! Yes, lard. It’s one of the true “original” soap ingredients, back in the day when ancient Babylonians figured out that combining animal fats with alkaline ashes somehow combined to make something that cleans bodies. Lard contributes to a hard bar of soap with creamy lather and provides emolliency.

This soap is part of our “limited edition” line of hand and body soap products. Really all that means is it’s seasonal. Once this one is gone, I won’t have more til the following spring/summer.
